The Greatest Beer Run Ever (2022) - Review
I really had a good time with this. The adventure of going through Vietnam and delivering these beers and kind of the lighthearted tone of this movie really helped me enjoy this. The film is honestly sincere. There's a kind of innocent quality to this that is really endearing to watch. Yes, it's kind of generic seeing this guy, you know, over in that war is very complicated, but it is endearing. But I was very surprised by how much fun I had here. But despite this fun energy, I can't ignore that this film is generic. It goes through the motions. You know exactly what happens. And there's not any big changes or big, drastic emotions you feel during the whole thing. I feel like Zac Efron here is also kind of miscast. I feel like the role that he's playing here should be a lot more lazy. He should be a lot more down on his luck. He should be almost more dislikeable in the beginning. But as is in the film. His character is, you know, just a lovable himbo who doesn't really know the right side of the war. And hey, don't worry, guys. He'll figure it out. Don't worry. He's still a good guy in the beginning, but he'll he'll learn his lesson. It may not leave a lasting impact. When I think about it later, but I still had a fun time. And really, I don't think this movie was trying to do anything more than that.
