Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (2015) - Review

Always bet on Blart. I judged the first film too harshly, because this sequel is the closest you could get to perfection. Kevin James returns as Paul Blart, and he brings the emotions, truth and nuances that a character like Paul Blart deserves. The film explores the relationship between a father and daughter like no film has before. The film is laugh-out-loud funny, but also comments on the subjects of morality, the role of the law, and obesity. The villains here are so compelling that you don’t even need a backstory, and their plan is multifaceted and not confusing in the slightest. The direction… chef’s kiss. Flat lighting and visuals are exactly what you want from a Paul Blart film, and that’s exactly what you get. Amazing characters like Jar Jar Binks, Yuri from Stranger Things 4,   Navi from Ocarina of Time, Jared Leto’s Joker, don’t hold a candle to Paul Blart. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 moved me, and you can’t say that for many films.
