The Worst Person in the World (2021) - Review

This Norwegian romantic drama is one of the best of its type, with endless creativity, amazing structure and thoughtful characters. You feel for every character in this film, they show you exactly who they are through their actions, their dialogue, and the filmmaking. The writing also never passes judgement onto these characters, they might not do the nicest stuff but you understand their point of view the entire time. The direction in this is incredible, incredible cinematography and surrealistic sequences allow the film to feel grounded and impactful. The film is broken up into 12 chapters, with a prologue and epilogue, and each chapter brings more anticipation on what will happen next. The acting is phenomenal, Renate Reinsve, Anders Danielson Lie, and Herbert Nordrum deliver these performances with nuance and courage, giving it their all 100% of the time. If the ending packed a little bit more of a punch, this film would be all-timer for me, but even still, this is one of best romantic dramas in recent times
