A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) - Review
One of the better slashers out there. The film may have aged in a few places, but the pure creativity and sequences hold up extremely well. Freddy has such a great personality, and the horror imagery on display is genuinely creepy. While the story on display is one that we’ve seen countless times by now, it doesn’t get bogged down by pointless character development or exposition. It keeps its thrills high and its pace tight. Also, it’s satisfying that the final girl is REALLY smart. She kicks Freddy’s ass, and you gotta love when the slasher gets smacked around in the finale.
