C’mon C’mon (2021) - Review
A reminder that what movies do best isn’t being original, or telling a story, or following the rules, it is making you feel something. Feel happy. Feel sad. Feel angry. Feel real. That is what C’mon C’mon does, and it does it magnificently.
Does much happen? Not really. Is this a story that I’ve seen before? Yes. Does the film feel floaty and existential at times for existential’s sake? Maybe, but does that matter. Look at what the filmmakers were trying to say, what they were trying to do. They want you to feel. And feel I did. Artsy, fartsy, blah blah blah, don’t matter. The film won me over, and I hope it does for everyone else.
