Top Gun: Maverick is a blockbuster in its purest form, combining top notch thrills, ludicrous production value, movie stars and some big ol’ heart to create a must-see theatrical experience. Maverick’s journey of a man learning to let go of his past and move forward is surprisingly engaging, supported by the Tom Cruises great performance. Speaking of Cruise, his insane commitment to realism and entertaining the audience pays off with some of most thrilling stunt work put to screen. The maneuvers the fighter jets make, along with how they are shot, are clear and breathtaking to watch. Add in touching tributes, amazing supporting performances, and abbbbbsss, and you get a stellar blockbuster experience that surpasses the original in every aspect.
