Thor: Ragnarok (2017) - Review
Thor Ragnarok is a great reinvention and adventure for Thor, but its rushed in the places that matter. The first 20 minutes feel so rushed, as Taika Waititi resets everything that the previous films have established so that he can get to the fun part on Sakaar. To be fair, all that stuff wasn’t particularly good either, but it’s blatant that Taika doesn’t care about what came before. But once we get to Sakaar, its a great time. Great aesthetics of the planet, great action, exciting soundtrack and some great humour. It’s a great ride through gladiator arenas and worm holes. The end is pretty fun too, but a lot of the emotional moments either fall flat or are interrupted for some jokes. Chris Hemsworth is great, finally making Thor his own while being supported by a good supporting cast. If you’re looking for a great space adventure, Thor: Ragnarok is perfect for that.
