Stranger Things 4 Vol. 2 (2022) - Review

The final two episodes of this season of Stranger Things has finally released, and does it bring the season up in my eyes? Nope. These episodes are still well-directed and the actors to their best, but season still has nothing but plot. The majority of the characters in this entire season have nothing to do and they don’t grow at all. I’ll prove it. What did Dustin learn this season? How did he grow as a character? What did Will learn this season? How did he grow? What about Nancy? Lucas? Jonathan? Mike? Erica? Murray? What about new characters like Argyle or Enzo? What above Steve, other than ignoring his growth as a character and make him have a thing with Nancy again. The only people who really grow are Max and Eleven, and Eleven’s storyline is so drawn-out and boring, just there to get her powers back and deliver exposition. It honestly feels like the show is wasting my time, just so we can get to a finale that doesn’t even surpass the last seasons finally in terms of scale and character pay-offs. It doesn’t help that the finale is 2 and a half hours long! There is absolutely no reason these episodes need to be this bloated with all the substance this season doesn’t have. It takes forever for anything to happen, which is unacceptable when one of the episodes is just A GROUP OF PEOPLE BUYING GUNS. I’m going to talk about this season of Stranger Things at a later date, but overall these last two episodes were like the rest of the season, overly long, overly plot heavy, and over-hyped.
