Sin City (2005) - Review

A film that commits 100% to its comic book noir style to its highs and not-to-common lows. The worst this film can be a times is disorienting, as the style, use of narration, and fast pace is a lot to take in a first. But by the second story, you get sucked into this world and are along with the ride. Everything about this is pulpy and satisfying, from the direction, visuals, acting and writing. I think the weakest storyline is Marv’s, but the rest are engaging and pulpy like a comic book should be. In a sense, this is the ultimate comic book movie, and you gotta respect the sheer balls on Robert Rodriguez to make this the way he did. People clown on his “garage with green screen” style with this film, but he just created every filmmakers dream, making a comic book movie all on his own. Chad behaviour. Though it would be nice to see a women not dressed in underwear the whole time.
