Friday the 13th (1980) - Review

The biggest takeaway I got from this film is how did this film spawn so many sequels? This film is just so boring. You have all these different characters and they're really charming and there's some great set up here for different drama they may have, but at the end of the day, this film just doesn't deliver much on it. Other than The Kills, I think the kills themselves are pretty fun and really well done. But other than that, it's just kind of boring and I think it wholly fails as a murder mystery. Like, you're kind of wondering the whole time, Who's this killer? It's always shot in this POV and you're curious of who it is. And spoilers for the movie that's 40 years old. The twist at the end that it's just this mom of this person you never seen before and it just shows up 10 minutes left in the film is so unsatisfying. The suspense that's trying to be built through the whole thing is just so unsatisfying. This film is so generic and so boring that it honestly surprised me that anything spawned from this. Sadly, this film is all filler and no killer. I'll give Friday the 13th two Crazy Ralphs out of five.
