Fresh (2022) - Review

This was a lot of fun, with some great performances from Daisy-Edgar Jones and Sebastian Stan and stellar cinematography, but I can’t help but feel a tiny bit mixed on some of the choices the film made. I enjoyed mostly everything, I loved some moments, but some moments felt contrived or completely missed opportunities. The wife character felt like a missed opportunity, the phone part at the end was stupid, and the first act gave away its hand too early. Otherwise, this was an engaging thriller that sprinkles a little commentary of dating throughout.
P.S. I love the direction Sebastian Stan is taking with his acting career. With this, Pam and Tommy, and I Tonya, he’s showing how diverse and exciting he is as an actor. He also shows how one note the Winter Soldier is 🥶🥶.
